Irreversible is presented as an exercise in aesthetic production, developing a critical perspective that highlights the social, economic and cultural frameworks that condition the constitution of collective imaginaries and the way in which they form part of urban references.Continue reading
The installation draws on post-conceptual experiences to rethink the nature of the work, but as a debtor to a social praxis promoted by objective relations where the implementation of the processes of production and circulation of the works, as well as the formation of their meanings, acquire an irreversible character.
As a proposal, it aims to highlight the interdependent treatment of contemporary art by recognizing the links with extra-artistic procedural structures and flows that until now remained distant from aesthetic production and now participate as mediating elements determining the interactive projection of the works in their relationship with the public.
With this exercise, presented as documentation of processes and intersections of diverse disciplines, the work necessarily acquires a contextual reference that shows to what extent the social scenarios where artistic practice is built are the result of complex and unequal combinations. No matter the character or purpose with which an artistic action is carried out, it will be somehow marked by a social correspondence, sometimes presented as a relationship of anomalous circumstances.
